Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Milton Dick, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia, on the morning of Mar. 16, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn expressed his sincere appreciation to the Speaker for receiving him despite the parliamentary non-sitting week, noting that the gesture reflected the importance Australia places on its bilateral relations with Cambodia.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the significance of parliamentary diplomacy, an initiative of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, describing it as an important mechanism to further strengthen the longstanding ties between Cambodia and Australia.
Both sides exchanged views on recent developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border situation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Following the discussions, H.E. Prak Sokhonn also toured Parliament House in Canberra.
