Cambodia has officially reaffirmed its readiness to host the landmark 20th Francophonie Summit this November, following a high-level ministerial conference chaired by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, in Paris.
The 47th Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) gathered foreign ministers and delegates from all 53 member states. The sessions focused on evaluating candidates for the next OIF Secretary-General, with delegations formulating recommendations ahead of the final selection by their respective heads of state and government.
Addressing on the preparations for the upcoming 20th Francophonie Summit, which will be held in Cambodia on Nov. 15-16, 2026, under the theme “Reinvesting in Peace for Shared Prosperity and Sustainable Stability,” H.E. Prak Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to ensuring the success of the landmark gathering.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn stressed that Cambodia stands ready to warmly welcome international delegations and is working closely with all OIF member states and partners to ensure the Summit is conducted smoothly, delivers meaningful outcomes, and becomes a resounding success.
Later the same evening, H.E. Prak Sokhonn hosted a reception for conference delegates at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Paris, underscoring Cambodia’s hospitality and its active engagement within the Francophone community ahead of the historic Summit.
