Around 8,000 low-income residents in Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province, received free medical examinations, treatment, and health education from H.E. Hun Many’s Volunteer Doctor Team on Sunday.
The humanitarian medical mission, held at Samdech Hun Sen Svay Ph’aem Primary School in Svay Ang commune, was attended by Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, Member of Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King.
During the gathering, Samdech Men Sam An conveyed warm greetings from Acting Head State and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, emphasising the Royal Government’s ongoing commitment to public welfare.
Highlighting health as a core component of human capital development, Samdech Men Sam An underscored the Royal Government’s strategy under Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet to strengthen the National Social Protection Framework. The framework rests on two main pillars: a social assistance system providing cash transfers to vulnerable groups, and a national social security scheme managed by the NSSF covering healthcare, occupational risks, and pensions for workers and public servants.
Samdech Men Sam An expressed appreciation to Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many for launching the initiative, as well as to team leader H.E. Leng Phally and the participating healthcare professionals for donating their time and expertise.
She advised residents to maintain strict personal hygiene and seek prompt medical care when needed, while calling on local authorities to coordinate closely with healthcare institutions, encouraging youth to embrace volunteerism, and urging citizens to verify their voter registration with the National Election Committee.
