Bokor Mountain Trail 2026 Draws Over 2,000 Participants from 26 Countries

More than 2,000 local and international tourists from 26 countries took part in the Bokor Mountain Trail 2026 under the theme “Run for Green Tourism on Bokor Mountain” held on Oct. 4 on Bokor Mountain in Kampot province.

The event was presided over by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Mao Thonin, Governor of Kampot province.

The obstacle race was part of the 2026 Green Season Tourism Event in the Coastal Region, which was held for three days from Oct. 2 to 4 in Kampot province, with participation from Cambodia’s other coastal provinces, namely Kep, Preah Sihanouk and Koh Kong.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Kampot Provincial Administration, with the main objectives of promoting green tourism and sports tourism destinations and contributing to improved livelihoods for local communities.

Speaking at the event, H.E. Huot Hak highlighted Kampot province’s rich tourism potential and said the race aimed to promote the tourism destinations of Cambodia’s four coastal provinces – Kampot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk and Koh Kong – to international visitors and encourage them to visit and enjoy the destinations.

The Minister said the event was linked to the 2026 Green Season Tourism Event in the Coastal Region, which featured a range of activities, including cooking competitions and exhibitions of local products.

He also attributed Cambodia’s continued development and progress in various sectors to the peace enjoyed by the country, noting the efforts of former Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and the continued leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in maintaining peace and promoting national development, including the tourism sector.

H.E. Huot Hak added that the peaceful and stable environment has helped attract international tourists to Cambodia and encouraged them to share and promote the country with people around the world.

The Minister also highly appreciated the Kampot Provincial Administration, under the leadership of Governor Mao Thonin, for its efforts to develop new, distinctive and attractive tourism products, contributing to an increasing number of tourists visiting the province.
