Minister of Commerce H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul visited officers and soldiers of the Artillery Command on Oct. 4 to extend Pchum Ben greetings and boost their morale.
Welcoming the delegation, H.E. Lt. Gen. Pov Sokha, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army and Commander of the Artillery Command, reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, defending the nation, religion and King, and fulfilling its duties under the directives of the Ministry of National Defence, the General Headquarters of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and the Army Command.
H.E. Lt. Gen. Pov Sokha expressed appreciation to H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul and her delegation for their continued support, saying such assistance reflects the solidarity between the people on the home front and troops serving on the frontline.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony.
She expressed profound appreciation to the troops for their dedication, courage and sacrifices in defending the nation, protecting the people and safeguarding Cambodia’s territorial integrity, wishing them good health, strength and continued success during the Pchum Ben Festival.
On the occasion, the delegation provided the Artillery Command with essential supplies and equipment, including motorcycles, communication radios, tents, roofing materials, water filtration units, food and 5 tonnes of rice, along with financial assistance totaling 16 million Riel (roughly US$4,000) to support the unit and the construction of a water well.
