Another Death Case due to COVID-19 Recorded


Cambodia reported another coronavirus-related death; bringing the total fatal cases to 4, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health issued this noon.

The new death case is a 75-year-old retired medical doctor living in Khan Pursenchey, Phnom Penh. He was tested positive for the deadly virus last night. His condition deteriorated rapidly due to severe pneumonia infected by COVID-19, and he passed away this morning, at 8:00, after an unsuccessful all-out effort to save him.

The other three death cases are all Cambodians aged 46,​ 62 and 50 years old. Two of them died on Mar. 19 and the other one on Mar. 11.

Threat of COVID-19 is recurring in Cambodia following the outbreak of community transmission called Feb. 20 Community Event.

Cambodia’s tally of COVID-19 increased to 1,753 this morning, of them 1,233 are linked to the Feb. 20 incident. A total of 967 have successfully recovered.
