Cambodia, UNCDF Discuss Green Financing and Sustainable Development


The Cambodian Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) have late last week discussed work related to green financing and sustainable development.

The discussion took place here in Phnom Penh between H.E. Say Sam Al, Minister of Environment, and Ms. Preeti Sinha, Executive Secretary of the UNCDF.

On the occasion, H.E. Minister highlighted the importance of green financing, climate change financing and green economy development for the presence and future in contributing to the economic and social development of Cambodia.

For her part, Ms. Preeti Sinha praised the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially of the Ministry of Environment, in sustainable development process, and reaffirmed the UNCDF’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, the private sector and the banking sector in providing Blended Finance for the development of Cambodia in the future.
