H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, received here on Mar. 19 Oknha Dr. Nang Sothy, Chairman of THY HOLDING CO., LTD., along with his colleagues, for a working discussion on a project to develop luxury souvenirs made from agarwood, including perfumes and cosmetics aimed at Arab tourists.
In the meeting, the Chairman of THY HOLDING CO., LTD. presented the company’s plan to transform agarwood into high-end souvenirs for tourists. The company also plans to open luxury souvenir shops in Cambodia featuring agarwood-based products, as well as to develop agro-tourism initiatives in the future.
For his part, H.E. Huot Hak lauded the company’s investment project which is in line with Ministry of Tourism’s the Muslim Tourism Development Plan 2023-2027.
This includes cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions to promote halal food and the “Cambodia Muslim Friendly” standards, he added.
H.E. Minister expressed his appreciation and high regard for the company’s past efforts and its investment project, which will add significant value to the tourism sector, particularly in promoting Muslim tourism and attracting more Muslim visitors.
