Acting Head of State Thanks Türkiye for Supporting Cambodia’s Human Resource Development


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, expressed appreciation to the Republic of Türkiye for its contribution to Cambodia’s development, particularly in the area of human resource training and capacity building.

According to Senate Spokesman H.E. Chea Thyrith, the remarks were made during a courtesy meeting between Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Mesut Özcan, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Cambodia, at the Senate’s Solidarity Palace on the morning of May 19.

During the meeting, Samdech Techo congratulated H.E. Mesut Özcan on his appointment as Türkiye’s Ambassador to Cambodia on behalf of His Majesty the King of Cambodia. Samdech Techo noted that the ambassador’s prompt arrival in Cambodia reflected the importance Türkiye attaches to bilateral relations with Cambodia.

Samdech Techo expressed confidence that Ambassador Özcan’s diplomatic mission would further strengthen and expand the friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Özcan said it was a great honour to present his credentials to Samdech Techo Hun Sen in his capacity as Acting Head of State. He reaffirmed his commitment to working actively to enhance relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Türkiye during his tenure.

Samdech Techo welcomed the ambassador’s commitment and expressed satisfaction with the steady progress in bilateral relations, including cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of both countries.

He also highlighted the existence of direct flights and embassies in each other’s countries as clear indicators of the strong value both nations place on their bilateral partnership.

Samdech Techo further thanked Türkiye for its continued support to Cambodia, especially in training Cambodian human resources, and noted that both countries still possess significant potential to deepen cooperation in various sectors for mutual benefit.
