Japan Provides Nearly US$5 Million to Support Two Development Projects in Cambodia


The Government of Japan has agreed to extend 539 million Yen, approximately US$4.8 million, to Cambodia to support two development projects.

The Exchange of Notes on the extension of this Japanese grant aid was signed in Tokyo, Japan this morning under the witness of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Japanese Prime Minister H.E. Abe Shinzo, following their bilateral talks.

H.E. Ung Rachana, Ambassador of Cambodia to Japan, and H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia were the signatories.

Of the total amount, 200 million Yen or US$1.8 million will be used for the implementation of the Economic and Social Development Programme-Construction of Container Freight Station and 339 million Yen, or some US$3 million, for the implementation of the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship.
