Flights Temporarily Banned from Two Countries

The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to temporarily ban the flights from Malaysia and Indonesia.

The decision was made by Prime Minister Hun Sen on July 25 at the request of the Ministry of Health.

Effective from August 1, 2020, the move is aimed to reduce the risk of imported COVID-19 transmission as many recent cases have been found among passengers coming from the two countries, explained the Ministry of Health.

In addition, it continued, the ban will contribute to strengthening health safety for people across the country because from August and September, Cambodia will have many holidays, and people will travel to different tourism destinations. “We, therefore, need to increase our vigilance in preventing the COVID-19 spread,” it underlined.
