នៅព្រឹកថ្ងៃទី ០៥ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ ២០១៨ នៅទីស្តីការក្រសួងសាធារណការ និងដឹកជញ្ជូន ឯកឧត្តម ស៊ុន ចាន់ថុល ទេសរដ្ឋមន្ត្រី រដ្ឋមន្ត្រីក្រសួងសាធារណការ និងដឹកជញ្ជូនបានទទួលជួបគណៈប្រតិភូ សមាគមន៍ហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ធដឹកជញ្ជូនផ្លូវទឹក (The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure) ហៅកាត់ថា PIANC-JAPAN ដើម្បីពិភាក្សាលើអត្ថប្រយោជន៍នៃការចូលជាសមាជិករបស់ PIANC-JAPAN ក្នុងការអភិវឌ្ឍ និងថែទាំវិស័យដឹកជញ្ជូនផ្លូវទឹក និងកំពង់ផែ។

On Monday morning of March 05, 2018 at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Minister HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister of Public Works and Transport has met a delegation of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure referred to as PIANC-Japan to discuss the benefits of being a member of PIANC-Japan in the development and maintenance of waterborne transport and ports.
The PIANC-JAPAN Delegation informed the Senior Minister and higg ranking officials of ministry about the history and activities of the association in assisting its members in the maintenance, development and development of water transport through a forum to share knowledge and experiences to worldwide members on the efficiency of budget utilization.
The Senior Minister expressed his interest in joining PIANC-JAPAN as a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to develop efficient inland waterway infrastructure and management, especially the management of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port.
