Joint Delegation from Canada Looks for Cooperation with APSARA Authority


On 17 January 2019, the meeting between APSARA Authority and Joint Delegation from Canada to seek cooperation over some tasks in the future ahead. Apsara Authority Representatives by H.E Sok Songvar, Deputy General Director of Angkor Department of Tourism Development and the Delegation of Canada led by H.E Geng Tan, Member of Parliament of Ontario.

H.E Sok Songvar warmly welcomed the Delegation of Canada by explaining the important milestones of the Angkor site, as well as the work of the Apsara Authority on the conservation and development of the Angkor site, since Angkor was a world heritage site at risk in the year 1992 until the site was removed from the legendary heritage in 2004. At the same time, he also authorized three experts of the Apsara Authority to present to the delegates presenting about the conservation of temples, development in tourism and the development of the Run Ta Ek natural village.

H.E Michael Chan , the former Minister of Tourism of Canada, thanked the Apsara Authority for welcoming the Delegation of Canada. In addition, he also praised the efforts of the Apsara Authority on the conservation and development of Angkor site in the past.
