Cambodia Marks International Tiger Day in Mondulkiri Province

Ministry of the Environment, in cooperation with the Provincial Environment Department and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), organised an event to celebrate the International Tiger Day (29 July) in Sèn Monorom town of the north-eastern province of Mondulkiri, on July 28-29.

The two-day event, attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Environment, provincial leaders, civil servants and youth, aimed to raise public awareness on tiger conservation.

On the first day, there was a five-kilometre run, starting from WWF headquarters to the Independence Monument roundabout and ending at Kouprey roundabout.

The second day was reserved for a parade and art performances to enhance knowledge and encourage public participation in tiger conservation and natural resource protection.
