German Chamber of Commerce to Open an Office in Cambodia


The German Chamber of Commerce has shown its intention to open its first ever office in Cambodia to ease business and investment of German companies in the Kingdom.

While paying a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh this morning, newly appointed German Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Christian Berger explained the intention by the fact that more and more German companies are interested to invest in Cambodia, according to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister.

The German diplomat recalled the visit of Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, in Germany, stressing that the visit reflected the good relationship between the two countries. He also pledged to do his best to further tighten both nations’ relations and cooperation during his diplomatic term in the Kingdom.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen spoke highly of the economic and trade ties between Cambodia and Germany, adding that there are still more potential for both countries in the field of business.

As Cambodia is going to host the ASEM Summit in 2020 and Germany is the European Union’s rotating president, the Premier expressed his hope that the two countries will cooperate for the success of this important summit.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also took the opportunity to thank Germany for its assistance to Cambodia and to send his regards to the Chancellor of Germany H.E. Mrs. Angela Merkel.
