Cambodian PM Departs for 33rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Singapore


A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen left here this morning for Singapore to attend the 33rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart H.E. Lee Hsien Loong.

The delegation was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and many other high-ranking officials, as well as Singaporean Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Michael Tan Keng Siong.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the upcoming 33rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits will be held from Nov. 13 to 15 under the theme “Resilient and Innovative ASEAN”.

During his stay in Singapore, Samdech Techo Prime Minister is expected to attend various summits, including the 33rd ASEAN Summit / Working Dinner for the ASEAN Leaders; ASEAN-Australia Informal Breakfast Summit; 21st ASEAN-China Summit; 20th ASEAN-ROK Summit; 3rd ASEAN-Russia Summit; 21st ASEAN-Japan Summit; ASEAN-India Informal Breakfast Summit; 6th ASEAN-U.S. Summit; 21st ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit; 13th East Asia Summit; East Asia Summit (EAS) Lunch (Retreat); and 2nd Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Leaders’ Meeting.

The Cambodian Premier will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn; Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak; Minister of Education, Youth and Sports H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron; as well as a number of senior government officials and business leaders from Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

On the sidelines of the Summits, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will take part in many other meetings and functions such as ASEAN Business Advisory Council; Working lunch hosted by H.E. Lee Hsien Loong for ASEAN Leaders; and Gala Dinner hosted by the ASEAN Chair for ASEAN Leaders.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister is also expected to have some bilateral meetings with other heads of delegations.
