Coastal Tour Package Design Challenge Opened


Ministry of Tourism is opening for application for local tour package design challenge among the public with an aim to promote tourism to coastal areas of Cambodia.

Accepting entries from now until the close of August, the challenge is eligible for either team or individual who can creatively develop a tour package to the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong.

As explained in the notification from the Ministry of Tourism, the trip should last three days and two nights with reasonable costs, and indicate the dissemination and promotion of cultural, natural, environmental, social and tourism conservation.

From Sept. 2 to 30, the five top designs of tour packages will be identify to present their concept to the selection panel, and three will be shortlisted from the five as winners.

The top three tour package designs will be awarded with 1,000,000 Riel (about US$250), 800,000 Riel (US$200), and 600,000 Riel (US$150), respectively.

The challenge does not only intend to further promote the Kingdom’s coastal tourism, but also to promote the livelihood of the locals in those areas and sustain the development of the industry.
